Hi, I'm Joel Ankney. I'm the author of the book Before You Leap: Your Legal Guide to Starting a Freelancing Business. Before You Leap as a guidebook that helps freelancers, consultants, and independent contractors identify, understand, and navigate the legal issues associated with starting and running a freelancing business. It answers questions like: What type of legal entity should I use for my business? How do I protect my work product? And what should my client contract say? It also dispels misinformation about starting or running a business that you might find on the internet or hear from friends or family members. Rather than creating an audio book version of Before You Leap, I'm reading my book to you in installments. Each podcast episode will be an approximately 30-minute segment reading of my book.
